You want to see waterfalls, there are a dozen that are as high as a tree.
You want to stand on top of the world, we have the highest mountaintop east of the Rockies in Mount Mitchell, elevation 6,684 feet, that is just minutes away. We also have very close by, Grandfather Mountain (link), Linville Falls (link), Linville Caverns (link), and Table Rock.
There is an outward bound school close by as well.

Tent Camping: $25.00 per night, up to two people
$3.00 per night per additional person

Campers, RVs, Motorhomes:
Sunday - Thursday: $25.00 for up to two people
Friday - Saturday, & Holidays: $29.00 for up to two people
$3.00 per night per additional person

Cabins for rent, as well

Day visitors: - $5.00 adults, $3.00 children

Waterslide - $3.00 per person for 30 minutes.
$8.00 for all day.
